We’re not talking about expensive or classic cars here. This is about buying a car cheaply, and running it on next to nothing.
This involves a bit of research, luck, and some DIY.
Research to find suitable models, then again to actually find an example. DIY to do the basic stuff yourself – if you can’t be bothered to top up the oil or pump up the tyres, then this is not for you.
And luck – good (hopefully), and bad. You may find a cheap banger at the end of your road for peanuts* – I did.
